Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles

"We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it's in everyone."

This quote means so much to me. I grew up with parents, teachers and friends who quite regularly led me to believe that I just wasn't good enough. Usually in the form of wise cracks, sarchasm, rolling of the eyes, and lots of laughing and backstabbing. How unfortunate I believed them. I don't anymore. I may still be trying to figure out what my future will look like but it will be much better than where I came from. After a class I took on spirituality and meditation, a final homework assignment was to create a drawing of your connection with spirit. I've added it here, with the quote. I hope you enjoy it.
